It’s a busy week in Miami as several events kick off and as I sat at my computer looking over my emails and scanning the menu at Whisk for my usual Monday lunch salad (Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Organic Spinach Salad w/ Shaved Red Onion, Local Avocado Slices, Chopped Egg, Cremini Mushrooms & Honey-Mustard Dressing) and cupcake, (Mondays and Wednesdays are Misha’s cupcakes days at Whisk gourmet) I noticed the link to peniferella at the bottom of the screen and I was delighted to find a great design studio.

This week:

Elsewhere Macworld is taking place this week in San Francisco.

Tech trendwatchers are waiting to see what Apple will unveil and they especially awaiting a new compact laptop. Steve Jobs will deliver the keynote speech today at noon and you can watch it on Apple’s main page.

The words luxury and luxe are often thrown around in Miami. Every new club, event, party has a luxury theme often there is complimentary valet parking, top shelf liquor, beautiful people, free food, goodie bags with great items and of course an after party. However, recently I’ve been adhering to the saying “less is more.” I’ve decided true luxury lies in simplicity. A truly luxe experience lies in the simplification of all things related to the time spent in the moment/event. I think it’s important so stop and ask if on a daily basis one is living a life of luxury. Am I indulging in the smallest and often most important details of my life? For example a good night’s sleep, long baths or showers, delicious, healthy meals, stimulating conversations, novel experiences. I want to indulge in the quality of living in the moment and remembering that every moment is about making choices to enhance one’s life. Fortunately Miami has a lot of luxury from amazing new experiences to some familiar favorites in arts and culture.
