Yes, you can virtually live on the internet and be inspired by great sites. But inspiration hits you from all senses and often the best ideas come from taking a walk down the street and taking it all in the sounds, the sights, the colors, the energies and if you take a walk down a street off your habitual path (yes, I mean no Lincoln Road) you might discover something completely novel harajuku girls, skater boys, and hip hop are all street. A new book Streetworld hit the streets around the world and covers youth culture and its creativity. And so now that you’re walking down the street noticing that novel, youthful energy everywhere stop and look at Louis Vuitton’s new holiday windows, designed by two students from Central St. Martins. All 380 Louis Vuitton stores will display Latitude 48.194 / Longitude 02.286 the holiday windows designed by Christopher Lawson 21 from Ireland and Marcos Villabla 26 from Spain. So this French powerhouse label goes to an art school in London and a guy from Ireland and another from Spain create these windows that will be seen all around the world….. gotta love the multinational, EU power on that one. Next time you need a burst of creative energy lace up those Adidas and hit the Mean Streets or at least next time walk to a different Starbucks.
Most of us are familiar with the film Donnie Darko and have probably seen its website and now it’s become a play. From Oct 27 - Nov 18 if you’re in Boston you can watch ART perform the play adapted and directed by Michael Stern.
